Apple iPhone 3GS - S is for speed!

The iPhone 3GS distinguishes itself from its previous model because of its speed. Opening applications was quick on the iPhone 3G but on the 3GS it promises to be even quicker, with Apple stating that it boast speeds up to 2x faster than before and noticeably so.

Loading an application and closing one before re-opening another shows just how fast these new 3GS phones can actually operate, able to cope with multiple usage and processing several tasks simultaneously. Another indication is the speed of HSPA cell downloads, which are now increased to 7.2 mbps.

Web pages also open faster and images on pages load more rapidly in comparison to a lot of other mobile devices that offer internet access such as the Nintendo Dsi and the Blackberry. Sending e-mails is quicker too with load times reduced, supplying faster transfer to the intended recipient.

Such unprecedented processing power would forgive users from making the assumption that all this comes with a seriously reduced battery life which has often been a complaint with the 3G. It’s quite the opposite with the 3GS in fact, with claims boasting that a longer lasting more durable battery offers 3 more hours of Web browsing and 6 more hours of audio than its predecessor.

It’s quite clear that the S stands for speed and Apple clearly knew this would be the most appealing feature of their new phone. The 3G S does well to compliment the S in its name, and is set to become the most responsive phone on the market.
